In today’s economy data is the new gold and everything is becoming increasingly subscription based. Personally I prefer having full ownership of my assets, extending to my media and online data as well. I therefore decided to build some infrastructure of my own to stream music, sync photo’s and make automated backups to my server, all without paying a single subscription other than the electricity bill.
